PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a transmission apparatus capable of suppressing the error of transmission data or the occurrence of loss, without causing increase in the data amount of error correction information to be transmitted. SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a data transmission apparatus 1 for generating an error-correcting code, based on transmission data and transmitting transmission data, to which the generated error-correcting code has been imparted, to a data receiving apparatus 3 of a communication partner. The data transmission apparatus includes a communication status information receiving section 12 for receiving from the data-receiving apparatus 3 communication status information, indicating the status of communication quality; an error-correcting strength determining section 11 for determining the intensity of the error-correcting code, based on the communication status information; and an error-correcting code generating section 14 for generating the error-correcting code based on the strength.
