<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce unnecessary communication with a management apparatus and maintain security in a system with respect to a function for starting remote control. <P>SOLUTION: In a management system, for example, an image forming apparatus manages a phenomenon generated within the apparatus as history information, inquires about status information that shows whether or not remote control is on standby in the management apparatus, and receives the status information about the apparatus from the management apparatus as a response to the inquiry. If a phenomenon that has not yet been addressed exists in the history information managed in the management apparatus and the status information received from the management apparatus shows that remote control is on standby, the image forming apparatus activates a function for instructing to start connection with the management apparatus. The image forming apparatus then starts to connect with the management apparatus in response to an instruction for executing the activated function from a user. The image forming apparatus executes a command from the management apparatus through the communication which is thus connected and started, and therefore the management apparatus achieves remote control. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
