PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a self-sealing trap effectively functioning to allow the outflow of drainage in the open state and to regulate the inflow of odor in the closed state even if the dimension in the cylinder axis direction of a pair of faces forming an opening/closing part is short. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the self-sealing trap 10 of cylindrical rubber with one end formed as a mounting part on the drain port side and with the other end formed as the opening/closing part 12 opened/closed by the separation and abutting of the pair of faces, includes manufacturing a prior stage member 10' with an opening/closing part predetermined portion 12' sealed, arranging a cutting blade 40 to the opening/closing part predetermined portion 12' of the prior stage member 10' so that its cutting edge 41 faces the opening/closing part predetermined portion 12' side of the prior stage member 10', and then moving the prior stage member 10' and the cutting blade 40 relatively in the cylinder axis direction to cut open the opening/closing part predetermined portion 12' of the prior stage member 10' with the cutting blade 40, thus forming the pair of faces 12b forming the opening/closing part 12.
