A machine having an indexable work-table 1, Fig. 1, supporting a number of workpiece locating members 2, has an equal number of tool units 4, each consisting of two relatively adjustable parts 9, 10, Figs. 2 and 3, and each being pivotably supported in a carriage 5 which is slidable radially relatively to the worktable. Each carriage 5, guided at 3a, Fig. 2, is adjustable by a graduated knob 8 integral with a screw 6 engaging a nut 7 attached to machine frame 3, and an extension 5a, of the carriage 5, has a column 16 rotatably and slidably mounted therein, and clamped by a screw 17. The part 10 which carries a tool-spindle 11 may be finely angularly-adjusted relatively to the part 9 by opposed screws 23, 24 in part 10 engaging an abutment 25 on part 9. The tool-spindle, driven through pulleys 12, 13, Fig. 1, and belt 14, may be adjusted axially by a screw 27, graduated at 26.</p> |
