PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a working machine which is designed to allow a retainer rod for pressing a battery to be mounted or dismounted above the battery to save a space required for installing the battery. SOLUTION: This working machine incorporates a battery installing device 4 for holding the battery 3 in a hood 2. This battery installing device 4 includes a mounting base 5 for mounting the battery 3 on it, a pair of support bars 6 erected from both of ends of the mounting base 5, a pair of retainer rods 8 arranged between upper ends of respective support bars 6 and on both sides of a cap 7 for a liquid injection hole in the battery 3, and a retainer plate 9 to be attached to upper ends of the support bars 6 to press each of ends of the retainer rods 8 from above.
