CRYSTALLINE EPOXY RESIN, EPOXY RESIN COMPOSITION, AND CURED ARTICLE THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crystalline epoxy resin whose cured article has low water absorption and low melt viscosity. SOLUTION: The crystalline epoxy resin represented by formula (1) is obtained by reacting a compound represented by formula (2) with epihalohydrin. The crystalline epoxy resin and epoxy resin composition give a cured article having lower water absorption and lower melt viscosity as compared with the conventionally used epoxy resins, and can cope with a lead-free solder having a melting point about 20°C higher.
