PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable audio recording device that achieves appropriate stereo recording regardless of a direction of the device, an audio recording automatic adjustment method and a program. SOLUTION: The device includes: an audio recording unit constructed of microphones having an omnidirectional property and disposed in at least two locations of one corner and diagonal position of a housing; a detection unit for detecting a tilt of its own device; and a control unit for setting right and left channels to the respective two microphones based on the detected tilt. Then, the control unit is caused to raise a recording level of the microphone situated in a downside with reference to the detected tilt, of the microphones in the two locations, or to lower a recording level of the other microphone.
