METHOD OF MOLDING QUARTZ GLASS MATERIAL USING MOLD MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To mold a quartz glass material into a predetermined shape without incorporating crack or bubbles while a releasing material is formed with a simple work. SOLUTION: In the method of molding the quartz glass material using the mold material for molding an outline shape of a glass product by heating and melting the quartz glass material in the mold material, the mold material made from carbon and having silicon nitride (Si3N4) formed on a surface to be in contact with the heated and melted quartz glass material is used. The quartz glass material is placed on the mold material and the outline shape of the glass product is molded by heating and melting the quartz glass material in the mold material.
