PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water heater reducing a load on the heart during a shower bath, and improving comfortableness. SOLUTION: The water heater includes a heat source 13 heating hot and cold water, an output operation part 9 adjusting output of the heat source 13, a discharge part (a shower head) 5 discharging the hot and cold water heated by the heat source 13, and a warm and cold switch 10 starting operation of alternately tapping hot water and cold water with different temperatures. When the warm and cold switch 10 is operated to start operation of a warm and cold bath, in a first predetermined time, the output of the heat source is adjusted to tap hot and cold water from the discharge part such that a temperature detected by a temperature detecting part 31 becomes a temperature set in a temperature operation part, and after passage of the first predetermined time, hot water and cold water with different temperatures are alternately tapped.
