<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller and a control method for image display. <P>SOLUTION: The controller for image display includes two or more reference points, a modulation part, and a remote controller. The modulation part modulates light of a predetermined spectrum generated by the reference points in a luminance change cycle. The modulation part controls the reference points to emit light of a first luminance within a first period of the luminance change cycle and to emit light of a second luminance within a second period of the luminance change cycle. The first luminance and the second luminance are not a zero gray level. The remote controller captures the light of a predetermined spectrum in a sampling cycle, and demodulates image changes of the reference points to the remote controller.
