<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical position detection device which can properly form an intensity distribution, even when adopting a system for forming the intensity distribution of position detection light by a light guide plate, and to provide a display device with position detection function including the optical position detection device. <P>SOLUTION: In this optical position detection device 10, when a linear light source body 13 emits the position detection light L2 to the light guide plate 60, the position detection light L2 is emitted from the light guide plate 60 to a detection domain 10R. Accordingly, when the position detection light L2 is reflected by a target object Ob, the light is detected by a photodetector 30.
