PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast receiver for switching ON/OFF of individual functions as needed. SOLUTION: A broadcast receiver has a first receiving means for receiving a broadcasting signal by switching a channel subjected to tuning; a plurality of second receiving means each for receiving a broadcasting signal of a channel being set thereto; a first control means for display-controlling a video image based on the broadcasting signal received by the first receiving means; and a second control means for switching between a first mode and a second mode. During the first mode, driving control is performed on operations of all the plurality of second receiving means and recording control is performed based on the broadcasting signals received by the plurality of second receiving means. During the second mode, stop control is performed on operations of one or more of the plurality of second receiving means and recording control is performed based on broadcasting signals received by remaining ones of the plurality of second receiving means.
