PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a floating-point retrieval calculation apparatus and the like of less amount of HW (hardware). SOLUTION: The floating-point retrieval calculation apparatus includes: an operand holding part 101 having a function for holding two operands; an absolute value addition part 140 having a function for performing addition and subtraction of fixed-points of two operands in a fixed-point form, a function for regarding the two operands in a floating-point form as the fixed-point form to perform subtraction, and a function for performing absolute value subtraction of a mantissa part after digits of the two operands in the floating-point form are aligned; a comparison part 150 having a function for generating comparison information in accordance with an index part of the two operands in the floating-point form and a value of an encoding part; and an operand selection part 152 having a function for selecting one of the two operands held by the operand hold part 101 based on the comparison information generated in the comparison part 150.
