PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silent chain having simple construction for suppressing string vibration and reducing noises without reducing power transmitting efficiency and durability. SOLUTION: The silent chain 100 includes a pair of guide plates 110 and a plurality of link plates 120, 130 alternately connected and organized together via rocker pins 141, 142. Between the adjacent link plates 120, 130 or the guide plates 110, a bending suppressing spring 150 inserted between the adjacent rocker pins 141, 142 generates elastic force during bending in opposition to the winding direction.
