PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle seat adjustment mechanism with a pivoting locking member, which has a reduced play in the mechanism. SOLUTION: The vehicle seat adjustment mechanism comprises: a first end-plate 10; a second end-plate 20 pivoting about a pivot axis Y; a locking member 11 which is movable from an inactive position to an active position, with the locking member comprising a first and a second guide surfaces 27, 28; and a guide member 14 associated with the locking member, comprising a third and a fourth guide surfaces 17, 18, with the third and fourth guide surfaces 17, 18 having a conical configuration which widens more than the first and second guide surfaces.
