The present application relates to methods for treating cancer in a subject by modulating the phosphorylation of the Serine 42 of Twisti by administering to said subject a therapeutically effective amount of a modulator of said phosphorylation of the Serine 42 of Twisti. Antibodies, uses methods and biomarkers based on the phosphorylation of the Serine 42 of Twisti are also provided.
