The present invention provides a method for starting up a computer equipment by using a user identification device, wherein, the user identification device is connected with the computer equipment electrically. The method is characterized in that it comprises the following steps: the user identification device acquires verification feature information inputted by user. The user identification device determines whether the verification feature information is legal; if the determination result is "No", the user identification device waits for new verification feature information to be inputted; if the determination result is "Yes", the user identification device sends out a starting up signal to the computer equipment. The computer equipment checks whether the starting up signal is correct; if the check result is "No", the user identification device waits for new verification feature information to be inputted and if the check result is "Yes", the computer equipment carries out booting action.
