The filter has a pressure regulation valve (4) for controlling pressure in a filter housing (1), and a retainer (8) provided for the pressure regulation valve and formed at a filter base (1.1) of the filter housing. The retainer projects into the filter housing and comprises a pressure orifice (5) that is controlled by the pressure regulation valve. The pressure regulation valve is held into the retainer by a snap ring (9) and comprises a valve housing (4.1), where a sealing ring (11) is provided at the valve housing. The retainer is adapted to geometry of the pressure regulation valve.
