PURPOSE: A cooking appliance is provided to improve sense of rotation and stability by attaching an inertial member of cylindrical shape to the rotary switch. CONSTITUTION: A cooking appliance comprises a rotating switch(450), an encoder(460), a circuit board(430) and an inertial member(480). The rotating switch is controlled by a user to have rotating motion. The encoder is fixed and coupled with the rotating switch. The encoder generates a signal while rotating. The circuit board receives and processes the signal generated from the encoder. The inertial member is fixed and coupled in the rotating switch. The inertial member multiplies the inertia moment value of the rotating switch.
