PURPOSE: A cushion device for a hydraulic cylinder comprising a check ring is provided to enhance the efficiency of a pump since the excessive pressure rise of the pump due to an operation delay at a stroke end is prevented. CONSTITUTION: A cushion device for a hydraulic cylinder comprises a check ring(90). The check ring is installed on a groove in a cover end(80) and a head cover(30). The check ring relatively moves onto one side of the groove to close a flow path in real operation at a stroke end. The check ring relatively moves onto the other side of the groove to open the flow path in initial operation at the stroke end. The check ring comprises two grooves. The check ring comprises an inner circumferential surface, a sealing surface, and a stepped surface. The inner circumferential surface comprises a plurality of first grooves. The sealing surface is formed to be able to make surface contact.
