PURPOSE: An image processing apparatus and a method thereof are provided to separate an extracted interest region into sub regions and change the region color information of the sub region. CONSTITUTION: A silhouette extraction unit(110) extracts a silhouette region corresponding to a target object of a 3D model from an inputted color image. An interest region extraction unit(120) extracts a cloth region from the extracted silhouette region, and an interest region separation unit(130) separates the extracted interest region into plural sub regions. An image edition unit(140) substitutes some sub regions for other colors stored in a database(150).
