The invention relates to a material having a cell structure with closed pores and to a process for producing the same, meant to be used in constructions. According to the invention, the material consists of a mixture of basalt powder and 1...5% foaming agent of the calcium carbonate type. The claimed process consists in grinding the basalt down to a grain size of 80...100 μ m and the foaming agent down to a grain size of 40...60 μ m, mixing and homogenizing them to obtain a foaming precursor which is further heated up to 900°C for 15...30 min and then is cooled down to 600°C at a rate of 60...100°C/min and in an annealing mode down to the ambient temperature, finally resulting in a material having a closed-pore cell structure with a porosity of 80% at the most. |
