<p>Initiation control apparatus, suitable for use in dairy milking sheds employing rotary platforms, is typically positioned at or near the circumferential perimeter of the platform or some other annular feature of the platform. The apparatus comprises following means which physically interacts with the platform (or feature thereof) to rotate indexing means associated with sensors, sensing the amount and direction of rotation thereof. The sensors provide data to a controller which relatively precisely calculates position of the rotating platform and compares this to stored data to determine if one or more control actions (e.g. signals) need to be initiated. Additional criteria may also be considered to determine if a control action needs to be undertaken.</p> |
