PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solenoid valve with a retainer maintaining a good slidability. SOLUTION: The solenoid valve (normal-open type solenoid valve 1) includes: a movable core 7; a coil 42 through which an electric current flows to move the movable core 7 by a magnetic force; a valve seat body 6 with a valve seat surface 61; a valve element 5 moving toward/away from the valve seat surface 61 to close/open a flow path R of an operating fluid; the retainer 56 including the valve element 5 and operating integrally with the movable core 7; and a through-hole 34 for slidably guiding the retainer 56. In addition, the solenoid valve is provided with a guide member (stationary core 3) formed with a groove 31a on the outer circumferential portion. A part of a base body B is crimped toward radially inside of the guide member, and onto the groove 31a, to fix the guide member onto the base body B. The lower portion of the through-hole 34 of the guide member is formed to have a larger inner diameter than that of the through-hole 34, to provide a run-off 34a for preventing the interference between the retainer 56 and the guide member deformed by the crimping onto the groove 31a.
