Disclosed is a liquid-crystal display device that has a decreased sensor density and allows combined detection of both color information for visible light incident on a detection surface (color identification) and an input position. Said liquid-crystal display device is provided with a liquid-crystal panel (20) that has area-sensor functionality whereby visible-light input images on the panel surface can be detected, thereby detecting visible-light color information and an input position. The liquid-crystal panel (20) (position detection unit) has: a yellow sensor (31Y) that contains a photosensor element (30) that, of the three primary colors of light, detects the intensity of green light and red light; and a cyan sensor (31C) that contains a photosensor element (30) that, of the three primary colors of light, detects the intensity of blue light and green light. By each detecting a visible-light input image on the panel surface, the yellow sensor (31Y) and the cyan sensor (31C) detect color information and an input position.
