<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underpants type disposable diaper which is easily torn apart after being used and does not easily slide down when it is worn. <P>SOLUTION: The underpants type disposable diaper 1A includes a plurality of elastic members 8 disposed over both side edge part areas 6A, 6A of an abdominal side part A and both side edge part areas 6B, 6B of a back side part B and joint parts 7 formed by fusing both side edge parts 6a, 6a of the abdominal side part A and both side edge parts 6b, 6b of the back side part B. The joint part 7 comprises embossed parts 70, and the elastic function of the elastic members 8 is lost by the embossed parts 70.
