<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve an illuminator having a small light emitting area and having a small divergence angle, though an LED light source is used therein. <P>SOLUTION: The illuminator 1 includes: the LED light source 2 which has a light emitting part 22 comprising an LED element; a reflection box 3 on which light from the LED light source 2 is made to be incident, and which reflects the light by an inner surface of a box shape, condenses the light to small area and emits the light; and a total reflection lens 4 which totally reflects the light emitted from the reflection box 3 and converts the light into nearly parallel light. The reflection box 3 is made to be a nearly cubic shape having openings 31 and 32 on an incident side and an emitting side, and the inner surface of the reflection box 3 is formed by means of a member having high reflectance. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
