PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blood glucose level-depressing agent, a pancreatic function enhancer or activator, in other words, inorganic compound particles effective for preventing or treating pancreatic diseases. SOLUTION: The inorganic compound particles represented by formula (1): M<SB>1-x</SB>(V)<SB>x</SB>(OH)<SB>2</SB>, formula (2): M<SB>1-x</SB>(V)<SB>x</SB>O or formula (3): M<SB>1-x</SB>(V)<SB>x</SB>(CO<SB>3</SB>) (wherein M is at least one of Mg and Ca and x is in the range of 0<x≤0.1) is produced by adding a trace of V in producing particles of Mg and/or Ca hydroxide, oxide or carbonate.
