The padding element (1) has a core element (2) provided with air-permeable cover elements (3, 4) on upper and lower sides, where the padding element is made of foamed plastics. Ventilation ducts (7) extending across the thickness of the core element are opened on upper and lower sides of the padding element. The core element has a cover element (5) that is made of air-permeable foamed plastics provided on one of the air-permeable cover elements. The cover element is supported on a bar (8) that surrounds the air-permeable cover elements.
