PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image-processing device which quickly cools a fixing machine. SOLUTION: The fixing part 401 of an MFP 102, which is an example of the image-processing device, has: a fixing machine 501 which fixes a developer image transferred to a paper sheet on the basis of image data; temperature sensors 502-504 which measure the temperatures of the fixing machine 501; heaters 505-507 which raise the temperatures of the fixing machine 501; and cooling devices 508-510 which cool the fixing machine 501. A control part 201 of the MFP 102 acquires paper sheet information including information for adjusting the temperatures of the fixing machine 501 (S202), and selects a proper paper sheet for cooling to be used to cool the fixing machine 501, on the basis of the paper sheet information thus acquired and the temperatures of the fixing machine 501 which are measured by the temperature sensors 502-204 (S208), and then passes a paper sheet for cooling through the fixing machine 501 to cool the fixing machine 501, the paper sheet being selected when the temperatures of the fixing machine 501, which are measured by the temperature sensors 502-204, are higher than a predetermined temperature (S210).
