Fieldbus-Interface with a recording and playback device for data-communication on the fieldbus

The unit (13) has interfaces connected with a computer (11) and field bus (5) i.e. profile bus, for allowing the unit to exchange commands or messages with the computer and the bus, respectively. A recording module records data communication on the bus as a service sequence during a recording time interval. A reproducing module reproduces the recorded service sequence corresponding to a predefined time span based on reproducing request, which is received from the computer. The reproducing module transmits the recorded service sequence to the field bus via one of the interfaces. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for recording a service sequence by a field bus interface unit (2) a method for reproducing a service sequence by the field bus interface unit.
