<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To retrieve a network device connected with a network from a client computer not equipped with a dedicated application program. <P>SOLUTION: The client computer 10 transmits an HTTP request for requesting the retrieval of the network device from a specific network device 20 via a web browser. The specific network device 20 which receives the HTTP request transforms the HTTP request to an SLP request by a web service, and multicasts the SLP request to IP networks 60 and 65.
