<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner for simplifying optical constitution, and to provide an electrophotographic image forming apparatus employing the optical scanner. <P>SOLUTION: The optical scanner includes: a light source for emitting a light beam; a light deflector for deflecting and scanning the light beam emitted from the light source in a main-scanning direction; a first optical element in a single sheet formation, which is arranged between the light source and light deflector, shapes the light beam emitted from the light source to a collimated light beam in the main-scanning direction, and condenses it to a reflecting surface of the light deflector in a sub-scanning direction; and a second optical element in at least single sheet formation, for imaging the light beam deflected and scanned by the light deflector on a surface to be scanned. The optical scanner satisfies expression: ¾βm¾>¾βs¾. Here,βm is magnification of the main-scanning direction of the optical system of the optical scanner, andβs is magnification of the sub-scanning direction of the optical system of the optical scanner. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
