<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device which suitably and stably gives an assisting force in a continuous manner even at alternative assist control at a failure of a torque sensor. <P>SOLUTION: A micro-computer 21 provisionally detects a steering torque based on the remained normal sensor signal when any one of the respective sensor signals Sa, Sb outputted by the torque sensor is normal even after failure of the torque sensor is determined. Further, the micro-computer varies an alternative assist control amount Isb*, i.e., an alternative assist component for giving an assist force corresponding to a steering angle θs based on the provisional torque τ_prv detected as the provisional steering torque. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
