<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chain tensioner device capable of maintaining approximately constant a load which the main arm connected with a plunger of a tensioner lifter through a sub-arm presses an endless chain, even though the endless chain is elongated. <P>SOLUTION: In the abutting parts 33a and 29a of the plunger 33 and sub-arm 29, the moving direction A1 of the plunger 33 and the direction of a tangential line T1 intersect orthogonally in the abutting parts 33a and 29a when the elongation of the endless chain 21 becomes maximum, so that the transmission efficiency of the load F1 of the plunger 33 to the sub-arm 29 is maximum at this time, and the transmission efficiency thereof becomes lower unless the elongation of the endless chain 21 is maximum. A spring of the tensioner lifter is elongated in association with an increase in the elongation of the endless chain 21 to offset a decrease in the load F1 of the plunger 33 by the increased performance of the transmission efficiency, and the main arm 26 is able to press the endless chain 21 with an approximately constant load irrespective of the size of elongation of the endless chain 21. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
