PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an expansion device of a joint section of a road bridge, which facilitates the attachment and replacement of a seal plate for water-sealing a section between a pair of vertical plates. SOLUTION: In this expansion device 1, a pair of steel joint members 10 and 20 and the rubber seal plate 51 are provided as primary members, respectively. The joint members 10 and 20 include the vertical plates 11 and 21 and road surface members 12 and 22, respectively. The vertical plates 11 and 21 are elongated in the longitudinal direction (the width direction of the road bridge) of the joint section of the road bridge in such a manner as to meander like a wave. The road surface members 12 and 22 are provided at the upper ends of the vertical plates 11 and 21 in such a manner that the plate surface is directed in a lateral direction, respectively. A joint gap 31 is formed between the road surface members 12 and 22. Additionally, the vertical plates 11 and 21 are each provided with a shelf member 13 or 23; and the seal plate 51 is laid between both the shelf members 13 and 23, and fixed by means of a bolt 55.
