<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an earthquake detection device of an elevator, which extends the life of a battery by reducing power consumption when the earthquake detection device receives power supply from the battery power supply under a power failure, and achieves energy saving by improving energy efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: The earthquake detection device of the elevator detects an earthquake of magnitude having a predetermined earthquake detection level or higher, and performs earthquake detection output according to the magnitude of the earthquake. The earthquake detection device includes an emergency power supply 15 for supplying power to the earthquake detection device when the power failure occurs in a building where the elevator is installed; and a low power consumption function 19 for reducing the power consumed by the earthquake detection device itself. The low power consumption function 19 becomes valid upon establishment of at least one of the following conditions: a predetermined period of time elapses after the occurrence of the power failure in the building; and the voltage of the emergency power supply 15 becomes a predetermined voltage or below. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
