The device (1) has a supporting element (10) provided with a fastening shaft (9) that is fixed in a housing (2) in different height adjustments. The supporting element includes a bearing surface that is provided for arranging a body element i.e. engine bonnet, supported outside the housing. The fastening shaft is form-fitly fixed in the housing by a locking unit (18). The housing and the fastening shaft include a locking element (14) and multiple locking retainers (17) such that the fastening shaft is fixed in the housing in different rest positions.
