PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clip type earring, durable against the long-time use because a load on a metal plate of an area to be stored within a contour of a pair of mounting legs interposed between one main ornament body and the other pinching member is applied to an engagement part with an end edge of a mounting base in the width direction and a large pinching force can be obtained when the mounting legs and the mounting base formed in the one main ornament body and the other clipping member respectively are relatively turned. SOLUTION: A pair of mounting legs and the mounting base are formed in the one main ornament body and the other clipping member respectively of the earring, and one or two flat and smooth metal plates are interposed between the pair of mounting legs and the mounting base to pivot the mounting legs and mounting base. The pivoted part is caulked together with the metal plate. The width of the mounting base is narrower than the area of the metal plate. When the mounting legs and mounting base formed in the one main ornament body and the other clipping member respectively are relatively turned, the load on the metal plate is applied to the engagement part with the end edge of the mounting base in the width direction.
