PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operating means for a gear group further smaller in vertical and lateral directions to reduce overall dimensions. SOLUTION: A transmission gear box includes an input gear 5, an output gear 8, an output shaft 4, and jaw clutching devices 9, 10 coaxial with both gears and movable along an axial line between a first position corresponding to a first jaw clutch connection state in which the output shaft 4 is (directly) connected to the input gear 5 at the center, and a second position corresponding to a second jaw clutch connection state in which the output shaft 4 is connected to the output gear 8 at the center of a planetary gear train. A tubular piston is also included which is slidably mounted in a fixed cylinder body integrated to a housing 1 and connected to the gear group in the axial direction, and which defines two annular chambers separated in the mutually sealed state and having variable capacity.
