PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera which increases the number of pictures taken and recorded on a recording medium during taking pictures in an RAW-data recording mode. SOLUTION: This image processor includes an image data storing means for storing image data being an output signal from a photographing means as it is, and an image data recording means for recording the image data stored in the image data storing means on a recording medium. After data necessary for development processing outside effective pixel area of the image data stored in the image data storing means are duplicated in an area that is not used for the development processing in the effective pixel area, the image data recording means records only the effective pixel area of the image data stored in the image data storing means on the recording medium.
