PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a run flat tire made compatible in both ride quality and run-flat durability performance in normal drive in a higher level. SOLUTION: The run-flat tire includes a reinforcement cord layer 5 for covering a part at least from a belt edge to the maximum width of a tire side along a radial carcass 2. The cord comprising the reinforcement cord layer has a cord angle of 85-90° with respect to a tire radius direction. Heat contraction stress σ (cN/dtex) at 177°C and an elasticity modulus E (cN/dtex) in 10 N loading at 177°C of the cord drawn from the tire satisfy conditions of σ+0.025E≥0.36, 40≥E≥8, and σ≥0.05.
