A flapper valve with magnetic field hold open arrangement including a housing; a flapper pivotally mounted to the housing; and a magnet housing slidably mounted to the housing such that a magnetic field generating configuration of the magnet housing is movable between a position where it is capable of holding the flapper in an open position and where it is incapable of holding the flapper in an open position.
