摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably carry out image formation well for a long time by suitably charging a surfaces of photoreceptors in respective units for image formation by properly controlling a charging bias voltage that is applied to respective charging members for two or more units for image formation from a shared power supply for charging. SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus with a plurality of units for image formation 10A to 10D charging a surface of a photoreceptor 11 on which a photosensitive layer 11a is formed by respective charging members 12 includes: the shared power supply for charging 30 for applying charging bias voltage to the respective charging members for two or more units for image formation; a detection means for film thickness 40 for detecting the film thickness of the photosensitive layer in the respective photoreceptors in the respective units for image formation to which the charging bias voltage is applied from the shared power supply for charging; and a charging bias decision means 41 for determining the charging bias voltage to be applied to the respective charging members from the shared power supply for charging based on the results detected by the detection means for film thickness.
