PURPOSE: A content reproducing system, content reproducing apparatus, program, content reproducing method, content server providing method are provided to implement adaptive streaming of content. CONSTITUTION: An acquisition unit(220) receives coding data. The coding data includes a first section including description information and a second section including a first format segment. The description information includes location information. A reproducing unit(240) decodes the first format segment of the coding content. The acquisition unit generates a request about the second format segment of the coding content.
