PURPOSE: A preparation method of a catalyst for ethylene (co)polymerization is provided to control the catalyst activation and particle size of the catalyst and to obtain the catalyst for ethylene (co)polymerization capable of preparing an ethylene (co)polymer with high apparent density and wide molecular weight distribution. CONSTITUTION: A preparation method of a catalyst for ethylene (co)polymerization comprises (i) dissolving a magnesium halide compound in a mixed solution of cyclic ether and at least one kind of alcohol to prepare a magnesium halide compound, (ii) reacting the magnesium halide compound with a titanium compound to prepare a carrier, (iii) reacting the carrier with an organic boron, and (iv) reacting the carrier with the titanium compound to dip titanium.
