PURPOSE: A document management method for an image forming apparatus is provided to enable a user to easily manage documents by automatically generating file names and dividing the documents by the preset category. CONSTITUTION: A scanned document management method comprises steps of: scanning an image in which barcode is included; determining whether to performing an OCR(Optical Character Recognition) process for the scanned image using the barcode information; extracting the property of the scanned document by performing OCR by the result of the determination; and setting a file name for the scanned document using the extracted feature information and storing the scanned image.
