A spray dispenser 102 for dispensing a liquid from a container comprises a pressure-relief valve 115 for release of excessive pressure in the container and a semi-permeable filter 105 / 116 at anged to permit escape of gas through the filter (and through said valve) but prevent the egress of liquid through the filter. The pressure-relief valve is not a dispensing opening. The pressure vent 115 may take the form of a diaphragm valve, spring valve, butterfly valve, swing valve, ball check valve, or a duckbill valve. The product container is preferably a collapsible bag, which may be housed in a rigid container. This spray head dispenser therefore allows air / gases to escape when the collapsible bag is heated during sterilization, yet does not allow particulate to enter and contaminate the product. The filter may be a hydrophobic membrane. |
