FIELD: chemistry. ^ SUBSTANCE: method involves circulating contaminated water through a chemically active system which contains iron metal and a zeolite arranged in series, where the first element, through which water passes, is iron and the ratio of silicon oxide to aluminium oxide in the zeolite is greater than 50. In order to treat contaminated ground water, the water to undergo treatment is passed through permeable chemically active barriers lying perpendicular the flow of the ground water, where the chemically active medium of the barriers contains iron and zeolite. The zeolite used is characterised by channels with size between 2.6 and 7.4 and the ratio Si/Al>200. The zeolite is selected from a group consisting of ZSM-5 zeolite, mordenite, Zeolite Y and zeolite beta. The zeolites are used in form of a composition with 40-60 wt % binding materials selected from aluminium oxide, silicon oxide and clay. ^ EFFECT: cheap, highly efficient water treatment. ^ 9 cl, 6 dwg, 5 tbl, 10 ex |
