PURPOSE: A light emitting diode and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to reduce the amount of fluorescent material by uniformly distributing the fluorescent material and efficiently using the light emitted from the light emitting diode chip. CONSTITUTION: At least one light emitting diode chip(20) is mounted on a substrate(10). A diffraction layer(30) diffuses the light generated from the light emitting diode chip by scattering. A fluorescent material layer(40) is formed with a certain distance from the light emitting diode chip. A first electrode(60) is electrically connected to the first terminal of the light emitting diode chip. A second electrode(65) is electrically connected to the second terminal of the light emitting diode chip.
